Dr. Shlomit Wagman is the Chief Regulation and Compliance Officer at Rapyd. Prior to her current role, she held significant positions in the public sector, serving as the Director-General of the Israel Money Laundering and Terror Financing Prohibition Authority (IMPA) from 2016 to 2022 and Acting Director-General of the Israel Privacy Protection Authority from 2019 to 2021. During her tenure, she led major national reforms, including the regulation of cryptocurrencies and the historic accession of Israel to the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) as a member country. Dr. Wagman played a key role in exposing and cracking down on money laundering and terrorism financing cases, resulting in the seizure of billions of illicit funds and earning IMPA prestigious awards and recognition as one of the three most effective FIUs worldwide by the FATF. Before her public service, Dr. Wagman gained valuable experience in the private sector, working with renowned law firms such as Wachtell Lipton in NYC and Gross-Hodak in Israel. She co-edited the book “Cybercrime” and served as an adjunct lecturer at Tel Aviv University and Raichman University. Her impressive academic background includes J.S.D. and LL.M. degrees from Yale Law School and a joint LL.B. and B.A. degree in law and business management from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Furthermore, she has a notable legal clerkship with the Chief Justice of the Israeli Supreme Court, Prof. Aharon Barak. Currently, she is a fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School and continues to contribute as an adjunct lecturer at the Reichman University.
