Peter Welinder

VP of Product at OpenAI

Peter Welinder is vice president of product at OpenAI, where he’s led the teams behind products like GPT-4, ChatGPT, DALL-E 2 and the OpenAI API. Peter founded the product, engineering and design organizations at OpenAI, and before that was a founding member of OpenAI’s robotics research effort.

Previously, Peter established and led the Machine Learning Team at Dropbox, where he served as head of machine learning. He came to Dropbox after the acquisition of Anchovi Labs, the computer vision company he co-founded. Peter has a PhD in Computation and Neural Systems from Caltech.
