Andrew Beam is Chief Technology Officer at Lila Sciences, where he leads development of AI for scientific discovery. His research spans machine learning, biomedicine, and causal inference, with a focus on building AI that reasons about complex biological systems. Prior to LILA, Andrew co-founded Generate:Biomedicines, helping build one of the first generative AI platforms for protein and therapeutic design. He served as a Senior Fellow at Flagship Pioneering, leading machine learning across the portfolio. He is an Associate Professor of Epidemiology at Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health with a secondary appointment at Harvard Medical School.
