Edward Johns is co-founder and CEO of Machenta. Previously, as Professor of Robot Learning at Imperial College London, he built a research team focused on solving the longstanding challenge of one-shot learning in robotics. Following breakthroughs with in-context learning, he founded Machenta with that same team at the end of 2025. Together, they began building a new kind of foundation model that today enables “instant robot learning” — robots that learn like humans do, from someone like you.
