Dr. Federico Buersgens is a serial diagnostics entrepreneur and Co-Founder & CEO of Amplifold, a Munich-based startup developing a next-generation lateral flow assay for ultra-sensitive cardiac Troponin I detection at the point of care. Its CE-IVDR certified platform aims to bring hospital-grade cardiac biomarker testing into primary care. Federico holds a PhD in physics from LMU Munich and co-founded GNA Biosolutions, an LMU spin-off he grew from a university lab in 2010 into a molecular diagnostics platform that raised over $40M and was acquired by Hewlett Packard in 2021. He then served as Global Head of R&D for HP Health Solutions and Managing Director of its German entity. With Amplifold, he is applying that playbook to a new frontier in cardiac diagnostics.
