Grant LaFontaine is the co-founder and CEO of Whatnot, the largest live commerce platform in North America, the U.K., and Europe. Founded in 2019, Whatnot enables hundreds of thousands of small businesses to scale through live selling, a more fun and trustworthy way to buy. Halfway through 2026, Whatnot had already surpassed its total 2025 gross merchandise volume (GMV) of more than $8 billion and buyers have more than doubled over the past year. Before co-founding the company alongside Logan Head, Grant held product leadership roles at YouTube and Facebook and co-founded Kit, which was acquired by Patreon. He holds a BA in Economics from Cornell and is based in Phoenix, Arizona.
