Max Niroomand is Co-founder & CTO of Lyceum, on a mission to enabling innovation in Europe. Previously, he worked as a quant at Citadel before doing his PhD in theoretical AI at the University of Cambridge. In 2025, he co-founded Lyceum to bring GPUs to Europe and make them accessible. Lyceum has raised $20m+ from European investors, including Germany's largest ever pre-seed round. Access to GPUs in Europe is fundamentally limited, and this prevents us from building the next Google here. Lyceum aims to change this by making the underlying infrastructure radically accessible. Lyceum offers bare metal machines for training usecases and has built state of the art inference software for a sovereign, ultra-high performant and price-efficient use of AI models.
