Simon Romanski is co-founder and CEO of Atlas Bio. Chasing a childhood dream of becoming an inventor, he studied Electrical Engineering at KIT, EPFL and Stanford. In 2014 he was one of the first engineers to work on self-driving cars, when EE math proved useful for the emerging field of AI. Type-1 diabetic himself, he pursued biology projects on the side and started Atlas Bio in 2024, combining foundation AI models with drug development to reshape an industry built around clinical failure. Today, 90% of clinical programs fail after years of work and millions in investment, and you can't test every hypothesis in humans. Atlas Bio's foundation model produces trial readouts before a single patient is enrolled - and the first biotechs have already used its predictions instead of basket trials.
