Stripe: Build for the business you will be in the future

Stripe at Slush 2026: Build for the business you will be in the future

Every startup begins with a business that will evolve. A pricing model changes, a customer segment prefers a different way to pay, or growth brings a cross-border challenge. The finance and payments choices made then can create room to adapt—or turn each experiment into a technical and operational project of its own.

One pattern we see across successful startups is that the first payment integration is only the beginning. What matters over time is having a system that can support the business as it evolves.

That journey unfolds in three stages. First, establish a financial foundation that lets the business receive, hold, spend, and move money across currencies as it expands internationally. Next, monetise without hard-coding a revenue model: accept payments, test prices, and support one-off or recurring revenue. As traction builds, the focus shifts to conversion, payment performance, revenue protection, compliance, and serving customers in more markets.

Global thinking should begin before a startup enters its second market. Even when a business launches locally, its product and financial infrastructure should leave room to serve customers internationally without requiring a restart. That means being ready to support local payment preferences, work across currencies, manage tax and compliance requirements, and move money across borders as the business grows. Stripe brings these capabilities together, helping startups build global readiness into their foundations rather than layering it on later through a patchwork of providers.

“Europe has no shortage of ambitious founders. We've always been builders with dreams. What matters now is giving them the conditions to move fast, act globally from day one, and unapologetically build companies that can define their categories. Stripe has been part of that journey for countless startups, and we’re incredibly excited to have them back at Slush supporting the next generation of builders,” says Noora Saksa, CEO of Slush.

The goal is to make choices today that leave room to experiment tomorrow, without requiring a costly rebuild. The startups that move fastest are often those that can turn a pricing or expansion idea into a live test while the insight is still fresh. With this flexibility small teams have more time to focus on customers and product learning.

Slush brings together founders when these choices become real: starting a company, finding a revenue model, or entering new markets. Stripe is there to make the trade-offs clearer, with practical conversations about financial foundations that can keep pace with the business—at home and globally.

“Slush is where many of Europe’s most ambitious entrepreneurs come together to build, learn, and make connections that matter. We’re proud to support that energy and help founders build and scale globally,” said Conor McNamara, EMEA CRO at Stripe.
