Insiya Jafferjee
Co-founder & CEO
at
Shellworks

Insiya grew up in Sri Lanka, first leaving to study at Stanford where she studied Product Design with a specialism in mechanical engineering and anthropology. She’s lived in multiple different countries since, including China, Italy and Germany and spent her early career in consumer electronics learning how to manufacture electronic circuit boards at Bose Corporation, how to design new UI for steering wheels at Ford Innovation Lab and then finally how to launch products at the largest scale at Apple working on products like the Apple watch launch and the soft keyboard.
One of the key motivations to leave was this idea that some of the smartest minds were employed to make consumer electronics and a strong desire to create a space where those same minds could work on creating a force for good. She moved to London and that’s how Shellworks started when she met her co-founder Amir.
