Jason Karaian is Deputy Business Editor at The New York Times, based in London, steering coverage of business, finance, economics and more. He joined The Times in 2020 as the editor of the DealBook newsletter, which more than doubled its subscribers during his two years in the role. Previously, he was the senior Europe correspondent and later global finance and economics editor at Quartz. Before that, at The Economist Group, he covered corporate finance for the European edition of CFO magazine and financial services for the Economist Intelligence Unit. He has also written about everything from banks to bonds to basketball for The Economist. He is the author of the book “The Chief Financial Officer: What CFOs do, the influence they have, and why it matters."
