Vay

Thomas von der Ohe is the Co-founder & CEO of Vay, a company revolutionizing mobility and paving the way for full-scale deployment of autonomous vehicles. Vay’s driverless, short-term car rental service has been operating in Las Vegas for almost two years and provides a convenient alternative to ride-hailing and private car ownership. Users request vehicle delivery via the Vay app, and a Remote Driver brings the car directly to them. After the user completes their rental, a Remote Driver reconnects to the vehicle and delivers it to the next customer. Vay is also the only company in Europe to drive on public roads without a safety driver.
Vay’s team of 150+ includes talent from Tesla, Google, and Amazon. Vay raised close to $150 million in funding from global investors Coatue, Atomico, La Famiglia (part of General Catalyst), and others. Previously, Thomas led projects at Zoox and Amazon in Silicon Valley. He holds an MSc in Computer Science and Entrepreneurship from Stanford University and is originally from Germany.
