Ilkka Paananen is the CEO and Co-founder of Supercell, the Finnish games company behind hits such as Clash of Clans, Clash Royale and Brawl Stars. Founded in 2010, Supercell’s six games have consistently featured in the global top 10 charts for years and are played by more than 250 million people every month. In 2016, Supercell became the first European technology start-up to reach a valuation of $10 billion. In addition to his role at Supercell, Ilkka helps other entrepreneurs as both an investor and as a mentor through his family office, Illusian. He also serves on the Boards of LEGO, Wolt and Zwift. Ilkka is also passionate about social impact. He co-founded the We Foundation, which builds platforms that allow organizations working with children and families to accurately measure their social impact; and Wondershop, a new kind of game studio that develops games that teach kids valuable life skills. Prior to founding Supercell, Ilkka was the CEO & co-founder of Finnish games developer Sumea, which was later acquired by Digital Chocolate, where he worked as President until 2010. Ilkka holds a Master of Science degree from the Helsinki University of Technology.
