The hugely popular four-time Emma Award winner, BESS, is a Helsinki-based artist and pop star who debuted in 2017. Combining electronic music and house with pop in her music, BESS is particularly known for her gritty vocal sound, numerous hits, and electrifying live performances.

By the 2022 UMK competition at the latest, BESS, who has become a name known throughout the country, has released two albums in her career: her debut album BESS, released at the end of 2019, went platinum, while KÄDET YLÖS, released in the spring of 2023, achieved double platinum status. In total, her music has been streamed over 110 million times. In addition to her record-breaking UMK 2022 song Ram pam pam, her most well-known tracks include Tempo, which has streamed triple platinum, and Sammumaton, the third most-played song on Finnish radio in 2023. In addition to her four Emma awards, BESS has been honored as Female Artist of the Year at the Iskelmä Gala and received the Breakthrough of the Year award from the Finnish Music Publishers Association.
