Harry Nelis joined Accel as one of the first members of its London office back in 2004, following more than a decade in Silicon Valley. While on the West Coast, Harry was an engineer and founder of a venture-backed software company himself and is all too aware of what it’s like to be in a founder’s shoes. At Accel, Harry focuses on consumer internet, software and fintech companies and his current portfolio includes some of Europe’s most successful private technology companies such as Celonis, CHECK24, Miro, Personio and Zepz (formerly WorldRemit Group). More recently, Harry has led Accel’s investments in Gravity Sketch and Super Payments. Harry has also seen his portfolio companies IPO on three continents, including French online fashion retailer Showroomprive.com (EPA: SRP), Funding Circle (LON: FCH), and KAYAK (NASDAQ: KYAK; acquired by Booking.com). In addition, Harry was responsible for Accel’s investment in Instana (acquired by IBM).
