Aalto University joins Slush 2024 to accelerate their ecosystem of research-backed innovations—the very same ecosystem where the group of students with ambitious dreams and strong entrepreneurial drive initiated AaltoES, and later Slush in its current, student-led format.

In the hands of Aalto students back in 2010s, Slush was transformed into what we are today—a powerhouse of young, ambitious and curious 20-somethings building one of the most influential startup events in the world.

Bringing together three leading Finnish universities in 2010, Aalto was founded to work as a societally embedded research university. By today, they have become a forerunner in radical creativity, multidisciplinary research and innovation, and have been an integral support for Slush from the very beginning.

“Aalto University and its Entrepreneurship Society have been key drivers of the Finnish startup ecosystem for years—sparking initiatives like Slush. Our partnership builds on this shared journey.” – Aino Bergius, CEO at Slush.

Supporting a constant flow of research-born innovation, for Aalto Slush offers a relevant platform to network with investors, partners and media. At their booth, Aalto will promote opportunities for new members to join the accelerator, Aalto Startup Center. The focus is on giving the floor to new projects making their way to change the world and offer a variety of investment opportunities in healthcare and environment.

Bringing radical creativity to Slush

This year the focus will be on celebrating radical creativity, the mindset and skillset behind the start-ups and innovations at Aalto.   We encourage all business developers—both newcomers and seasoned professionals—to find, train and use their creative skills by offering a free of charge online course providing tools for new ways of thinking.

“I really like the element of surprise as you never really know what Slush will offer you this time. I am glad that this year we can surprise the startup community with a brand new online course on creativity.” – Tomi Erho, Head of Innovation Ecosystem Services.
